Rip Stop úprava materiálu vyniká výjimečnou odolností proti mechanickému poškození. Díky mřížkování se výrazně zvyšuje pevnost a odolnost proti protržení. Dojde-li přesto k poškození materiálu, úprava RipStop zabraňuje dalšímu samovolnému trhání.
