1851 Colt Navy Yank Steel Old Silver .36. Pietta has perfectly recreated this beautiful black powder revolver by Samuel Colt in an Old Silver Steel finish. This exceptional firearm, a symbol of the Wild West, features a scene engraved on the cylinder depicting the II Texas Navy’s victory in the naval Battle of Campeche in 1843.

Made of steel and finished using the Old Silver method (matching the color of traditional old Italian coins), the firearm is less susceptible to corrosion from black powder combustion residue and is easier to clean after shooting.

Please note: The product photos on this page may not fully reflect the quality of the revolver’s finish or engraving.

In 1851, the revolver was adopted by the US Navy. Despite the Colt Navy name, it was sold in greater quantities to the army than to the navy. The Colt Navy revolver’s reputation soon reached England, where Samuel Colt built the only factory outside the United States in 1852. Revolvers made at this factory between 1853 and 1856 were called Navy London.

Construction and finish: Made of steel with an Old Silver Steel finish: open-frame design, engraved 6-chamber cylinder, octagonal 7.5" barrel (1:30 twist rate), loading lever, hammer, grip hardware and trigger guard. Sights: fixed brass front sight.

Trigger: The trigger-cocking mechanism has two positions: half-cocked for placing percussion caps on the nipples, and fully cocked for firing.

Grips: Walnut grips provide a secure hold. Oiling enhances the wood’s color and grain while preserving its natural appearance. The oil penetrates the wood without clogging its pores, allowing it to breathe.

Loading lever: Lever-operated rammer mounted on a hinge beneath the revolver’s barrel, designed to press lead balls into the cylinder chambers.

1851 Colt Navy Yank Steel Old Silver .36, firmie Pietta udało się perfekcyjnie odtworzyć ten przepiękny rewolwer czarnoprochowy Samuela Colta w wykończeniu Old Silver Steel.

Reputacja rewolweru Colta Navy wkrótce dotarła do Anglii, gdzie w 1852 roku Samuel Colt wybudował jedyną poza Stanami Zjednoczonymi fabrykę.
