Karabin sportowy S&W M&P15 Sport II to idealna konstrukcja do treningu podstawowego, nawiązująca swoją konstrukcją do klasycznej broni autorstwa Stonera M4/M16.W modelu Sport II zastosowano układ gazowy z przewodem odprowadzającym gazy bezpośrednio na suwadło (podobnie jak w klasycznych konstrukcjach Stonera) oraz ręczny popychacz suwadła.Broń została wyposażona w łoże M-lok, a na grzbiecie komory zamkowej zastosowano szynę w standardzie Picatinny. Szyna znajduje się również na gasblocku, co daje możliwość zamontowania muszki. Lufa o długości 16 cali została wykonana ze stali chromowo-molibdenowej 4140CM, natomiast suwadło, zamek oraz klucz gazowy w celu zwiększenia wytrzymałości są chromowane.Do M&P15 pasują standardowe akcesoria z rodziny M4 takie jak chwyty lub kolby co daje użytkownikowi łatwość i dowolność konfiguracji.W zestawie znajduje się jeden magazynek Magpul.
