Chartered Industries of Singapore SAR-80 semi-auto machine gun, cal. .223 Remington [M7441]

The SAR 80 (Singapore Assault Rifle 80) is a 5.56×45 mm NATO automatic rifle developed in Singapore in the early 1980s by Chartered Industries of Singapore (later ST Kinetics). It was developed as a local alternative to foreign designs such as the M16, with the aim of making Singapore’s armed forces independent of imported weapons.

The SAR 80 design was based on earlier models such as the Armalite AR-18 and combined a simple design, ease of use, and reliability in harsh tropical conditions. Although it was produced in relatively small numbers (mainly for the Singapore Army and a few export customers), the SAR 80 played an important role as Singapore’s first domestically produced assault rifle. It was later replaced by more advanced designs such as the SAR-21.

Used firearm, 100% functional. Visually, the firearm is in good condition, with scratches on the plastic parts and bluing wear around the ejection port.

The firearm has been modified so it cannot fire in full-auto mode; it fires only in semi-auto mode.

The barrel is in very good condition.

Karabin maszynowy semi-auto Chartered Industries of Singapore SAR-80, kal. .223 Remington [M7441]

SAR 80 (Singapore Assault Rifle 80) to karabinek automatyczny kalibru 5,56×45 mm NATO, opracowany w Singapurze na początku lat 80. XX wieku przez firmę Chartered Industries of Singapore (później ST Kinetics).
