Morakniv Fire Starter to wydajne krzesiwo ze stopu ferrocerium działające w każdych warunkach atmosferycznych.
Pręt o grubości 8 mm wykonano z ferrocerium, syntetycznego stopu piroforycznego, które po uderzeniu wytwarza gorące iskry, osiągające temperaturę nawet 3000 °C.
Krzesiwo działa nawet po zamoczeniu, podczas deszczu, opadów śniegu, na każdej wysokości i szerokości geograficznej. Solidny pręt pozwala na około 7000 krzesań.
W sytuacji awaryjnej kaloryczne iskry krzesiwa mogą służyć do wzywania pomocy, a w codziennych użytkowaniu także do rozpalania grilla gazowego.
Chwyt wykonano z polimeru o antypoślizgowym teksturowaniu. Do krzesania zaleca się używania grzbietu noża, a nie jego krawędzi tnącej. Do prawidłowego działania konieczne jest usunięcie zewnętrznej powłoki zabezpieczającej.
