#7371 Arisaka M1905 (Type 38) rifle, cal. 6.5 Jap.
The serial number indicates production at the Tokyo Arsenal (Koishikawa).
All original, including the beautifully preserved bluing. The inside of the receiver is notably in the “white.” This detail was not polished again during any subsequent refurbishment, making it the first indication that the bluing is factory original. The bolt is also factory original and in the white.
Complete factory markings. The chrysanthemum (imperial mark) has three circles stamped over it, indicating that the rifle was withdrawn from Japanese army service and the emperor’s symbol was canceled. This most often happened before a firearm was sold to another country.
The serial numbers do not match, as is the case with the vast majority of Arisakas that have survived to this day.
Overall, a fairly well-preserved example. Apart from the canceled chrysanthemum mentioned above, it remains in the condition in which this rifle left the factory.
Inspected and test-fired by a gunsmith.
The stock is made of two pieces joined together, as shown in the photos. Note: this is not a repair; two-piece stocks like this were factory-made! A one-piece stock of this type would be suspicious.
Barrel bore: sharp, complete rifling along its entire length. It can be described as very good, lightly used.

#7371 Karabinek Arisaka M1905 (Type 38) kal. 6,5 Jap.
