#5565 .22lr rimfire sport rifle. This is a typical conversion of a Martini Henry MkII rifle, made for sporting use in the early 20th century. It was a fairly popular way to repurpose obsolete military firearms in Great Britain, including in the years after World War II—several companies specialized in this work at the time.
This is a Martini Henry originally manufactured by B.S.A (in 1893), converted to .22lr by C.G. Bonehill of Birmingham.
Very good external condition, with numerous military acceptance marks and original factory markings preserved. The cleaning rod channel has been deliberately plugged.
Barrel bore: pitted. The rifle can of course still be fired safely.
#5565 Karabinek sportowy bocznego zapłonu kal. 22lr.
