Tłumik został wykonany z wytrzymałej stali, dzięki czemu w testach wytrzymują ponad 5 magazynków wystrzelonych ogniem ciągłym. Jednak zgodnie z instrukcją tłumik pozwala na wystrzelenie 1 magazynka ogniem ciągłym lub dwóch szybkim rytmicznym. AR40-3 zalecany jest w kalibrach .223 gdy zależy nam na lepszym wytłumieniu.
