Standardowy karabinek AK nie posiadał możliwości wystrzeliwania granatów nasadkowych. Postanowiono więc opracować w Polsce specjalną wersję broni. Zespołem konstruktorów kierowali Stanisław Dwojak i Leon Chodkiewicz. Modyfikacja kbk AK polegała na zainstalowaniu regulatora gazowego oraz wzmocnieniu konstrukcji zatrzasku pokrywy komory zamkowej. Na lufie zamocowano zdejmowalną nasadkę do miotania granatów. W drewnianej kolbie wprowadzono zaczepy dla amortyzatora z grubej gumy. Do wystrzeliwania granatów służył UNM (uniwersalny nabój miotający) czyli nabój ślepy z mocniejszym ładunkiem prochowym i wydłużoną szyjką łuski.Ładowano go do krótkiego magazynka o pojemności 10 nabojów.Karabinek- granatnik wz. 1960 miał frezowaną komorę zamkową. Broń była ciężka, ale cechowała się wysoką odpornością mechaniczną. Powstało niewiele egzemplarzy AK GN, więc ich wartość kolekcjonerska jest wyższa niż zwykłych AK czy AKM.Jest to wersja samopowtarzalna (pół-automat) – pozbawiona strzelania ogniem ciągłym.Kaliber:7,62×39Kraj pochodzenia:PolskaWyposażenie dodatkowe:pas, 1x magazynek, olejarka, przybornik do czyszczenia.Producent:ZM Radom
