Description

This is a methanolic silver nitrate solution for general use. Applying it with a spray makes it easy to use both in the field and in the lab. Apply a light, even spray to the surface being treated. After treatment, let the object dry completely, preferably in the dark (about 2 minutes).

After drying, illuminate the treated surface with high-intensity light (sunlight) or a silver nitrate acceleration lamp. Fingerprints appear as gray-brown images and should be photographed before the object's background develops.
