Pulsar Proton XQ30 – modular thermal imaging attachment for flexible hunting practice
The Pulsar Proton XQ30 is a modular thermal imaging device for hunters who want to adapt their setup to the situation. It can be used as an attachment on daytime optics or serve as a standalone observation device with the 5×30 monocular. The switch is quick and tool-free, right outside in the field.
Modular system and mounting
The mounting is done via the PSP quick-release adapter, which positions the Proton securely and reproducibly on the daytime optics. The thermal image is centered in the field of view without the need for readjustment. Removing and reattaching takes only seconds. The adapter can remain on the device even when the Proton is used as an observation optic.
Sensor and detection performance
Inside, a 384 × 288 VOx sensor with a NETD of 40 mK operates. The sensor is designed for reliable detection and displays game even in humid air or with low temperature differences. The detection distance of up to 900 m allows for early identification of heat sources without going into unnecessary detail.
Image representation and image processing
The image is displayed on an AMOLED screen with 1024 × 768 pixels. The representation appears calm and high-contrast. Additionally, the Image Boost function enhances edges and structures slightly clearer. With eight color palettes, the image can be adjusted to the terrain, vegetation, and personal preferences.
Handling, weight, and robustness
Weighing around 370 g, the Proton XQ30 remains pleasantly lightweight. The balance of the daytime optics is hardly affected, which is particularly noticeable during longer stalking trips. The magnesium housing is robustly built and waterproof according to IPX7. Rain, snow, or wet vegetation are not an issue in everyday hunting.
Power supply and connectivity
The device is powered by a replaceable APS5 battery with a runtime of up to 6 hours. The battery can be quickly swapped or charged on the go via a power bank. Photos and videos are stored directly on the device. Via Wi-Fi, recordings can be transferred and settings adjusted using a smartphone.

Das Pulsar Proton XQ30 ist ein modulares Wärmebildgerät für Jäger, die ihr Setup an die Situation anpassen möchten. Es kann als Vorsatzgerät an der Tagesoptik genutzt werden oder mit dem 5×30-Monokular als eigenständiges Beobachtungsgerät dienen. Der Wechsel gelingt schnell und ohne Werkzeug, direkt draußen im Revier.
Modulares System und Montage
Die Montage erfolgt über den PSP-Schnellwechseladapter, der das Proton sicher und reproduzierbar an der Tagesoptik positioniert. Das Wärmebild sitzt zentriert im Sichtfeld, ohne dass nachjustiert werden muss. Abnehmen und erneutes Ansetzen dauern nur Sekunden. Der Adapter kann am Gerät verbleiben, auch wenn das Proton als Beobachtungsoptik genutzt wird.

Ergänzend greift die Image-Boost-Funktion, die Kanten und Strukturen etwas klarer herausarbeitet. Mit acht Farbpaletten lässt sich das Bild an Gelände, Vegetation und persönliche Vorlieben anpassen.
Handhabung, Gewicht und Robustheit
Mit rund 370 g Gewicht bleibt das Proton XQ30 angenehm leicht. Die Balance der Tagesoptik wird kaum beeinflusst, was sich besonders bei längeren Pirschgängen bemerkbar macht. Das Magnesiumgehäuse ist stabil aufgebaut und nach IPX7 wasserdicht. Regen, Schnee oder nasse Vegetation sind im jagdlichen Alltag kein Thema.
Energieversorgung und Konnektivität
Versorgt wird das Gerät über einen wechselbaren APS5-Akku mit bis zu 6 Stunden Laufzeit. Der Akku lässt sich schnell tauschen oder unterwegs per Powerbank laden. Fotos und Videos werden direkt im Gerät gespeichert. Über Wi-Fi können Aufnahmen übertragen und Einstellungen per Smartphone vorgenommen werden.
