The Mauser 18 Forest Hunting, here in the left-handed version, is a rifle for everything! A compact repeating rifle for any hunting application: whether driven hunt, stalk, or stand hunting. Extremely maneuverable, with a short solid barrel, the M18 Forest Hunting model is particularly practical. Excellent swing behavior due to good balance and secure in the shoulder, it convinces hunters alike. The ultra-stable polymer stock and the steel-made system promise reliability all around.
The System
The system of the M18 Forest Hunting was made of steel, as proven millions of times with the M98. A three-lug bolt locks the chamber. This has reduced the opening angle of the chamber to 60 degrees. This guarantees the fastest cycling operations. A double-row 5+1 magazine for standard calibers provides sufficient firepower. If that is not enough, one can order a new 10+1 magazine and is thus well-equipped for any driven hunt.
Trigger and Safety
The trigger weight of the direct trigger can be adjusted to personal needs. The safety can be operated silently. It acts directly on the trigger sear and has three positions. This allows the bolt to be opened even in the safe position. Thus, safe unloading and loading of the weapon, even in cocked condition, is guaranteed.
The Stock
The ultra-robust polymer stock with soft grip inlays is lightweight and easy to handle. In the Forest Hunting model, the name says it all: a pleasing fir green was chosen as the stock color. The inlays on the ergonomic pistol grip and forend are soft and particularly pleasant to grip. They provide very good hold even in wet conditions. A special feature is hidden behind the stock cap. Here you will find a storage compartment for, for example, a cleaning cord.
The Barrel
The short, 51 cm long solid barrel, with a diameter of 19 mm at the muzzle, has been cold-hammered. Mauser guarantees a precision of under 1 MOA for this barrel. Additionally, it ensures that the weapon rests securely in the shoulder and swings perfectly during driven hunts. It has a muzzle thread M 17x1, for example, for a silencer or a muzzle brake.
The Scope
You have the choice between scopes from the brands Zeiss, Blaser, GPO, and Minox. The mounting is done on a steel Weaver rail with the Henneberger quick-release mount or with a swivel mount.

Die Mauser 18 Waldjagd, hier in der Linksausführung, ist die ein Gewehr für alles! Eine kompakte Repetierbüchse für jeden jagdlichen Einsatz: ob Drückjagd, Pirsch oder Ansitz. Äußerst führig, mit kurzem Solid-Lauf ist das Modell M18 Waldjagd besonders praxistauglich. Bestes Schwungverhalten durch eine gute Balance und sicher im Anschlag, überzeugt sie Jägerinnen und Jäger gleichermaßen. Das System
Das System der M18 Waldjagd wurde, wie millionenfach bei dem M98 bewährt, aus Stahl gefertigt. Ein drei Warzenverschluss verriegelt die Kammer. Dadurch konnte der Öffnungswinkel der Kammer auf 60 Grad reduziert werden. Das garantiert schnellste Repetiervorgänge. Ein doppelreihiges 5+1 Magazin für Standard-Kaliber liefert ausreichend Feuerkraft. Wem das nicht reichen sollte, der kann ein neues 10+1 Magazin ordern und ist damit bestens für jede Drückjagd gerüstet.
Abzug und Sicherung
Das Abzugsgewicht des trockenstehenden Direktabzugs kann auf die eigenen Bedürfnisse eingestellt werden. Die Sicherung ist lautlos bedienbar. Sie wirkt direkt auf den Abzugsstollen und besitzt drei Stellungen. Dadurch kann der Verschluss auch in gesicherter Stellung geöffnet werden. Somit ist ein sicheres Entladen und Laden der Waffe, selbst in gespanntem Zustand, gewährleistet.
Der Schaft
Der ultrarobuste Polymerschaft mit Soft Grip Inlays ist leicht und gut zu handeln. Bei dem Modell Waldjagd ist der Name Programm: als Schaftfarbe wurde ein ansprechendes Tannengrün gewählt. Die Inlays an dem ergonomischen Pistolengriff und am Vorderschaft sind weich und besonders angenehm zu greifen. Sie bieten auch bei Nässe sehr guten Halt. Ein besonderer Clou verbirgt sich hinter der Schaftkappe. Hier findet sich ein Staufach für z.B. eine Reinigungsschnur.
Der Lauf
Der kurze, 51 cm lange Solid-Lauf, mit 19 mm Durchmesser an der Mündung, wurde kalt gehämmert. Mauser garantiert für diesen Lauf eine Präzision von unter 1 MOA. Zusätzlich sorgt er dafür, dass die Waffe sicher im Anschlag ruht und auf der Drückjagd perfekt schwingt. Er besitzt ein Mündungsgewinde M 17x1, z.B. für einen Schalldämpfer oder eine Mündungsbremse.
Die Zieloptik
Sie haben die Wahl zwischen Zielfernrohren der Marken Zeiss, Blaser, GPO und Minox. Die Montage erfolgt auf einer Stahl-Weaverschiene mit der Henneberger Schnellspannmontage oder mit einer Schwenkmontage.
