S&W M&P · SHIELD · M2.0 · NON-OPTICS-READY
OuterImpact MRA for Smith & Wesson M&P – strong for Non-OR, but the exclusion list is decisive for buying
M&P is not a single pistol. OuterImpact distinguishes M&P, Shield, M2.0, Compact, Shield Plus, EZ and Optics-Ready versions.
This MRA sits over the rear sight mount. It is therefore mainly intended for non-optics-ready variants. EZ, OR and some .22-/10-mm models require other solutions.

Black-Raptor quick check

Buy if
You own one of the explicitly compatible M&P/Shield versions without Optics-Ready slide and want to retrofit a classic MRA red dot.

Don’t buy if
You own an Optics-Ready version, an EZ, an M&P M2.0 Compact .22 or one of the explicitly different 10-mm OR versions.

Why this mount makes technical sense
The M&P family is a prime example of why pure brand tags are not enough. Two pistols can both be called 'M&P M2.0' and still require different optic interfaces. OuterImpact explicitly separates Standard, OR, EZ, Compact .22 and Shield Plus OR.
The MRA replaces
the rear sight is replaced by a steel dovetail and carries the 7075-T6 plate on it. It is reversible but sits higher than a directly milled or factory optics-ready slide.

The key facts

M&P / Shield: compatible unless optics-ready; EZ requires a different adapter

M&P M2.0: compatible but not optics-ready; 10MM OR excluded

M2.0 Compact: .22 version and optics-ready excluded

Shield Plus: non-OR compatible; optics-ready slide requires a different adapter

Mounting: rear sight dovetail

Material: 7075-T6 plate, steel dovetail

Practical tip: With S&W, first check the exact marking and slide version: M&P, M2.0, Shield, Shield Plus, EZ, Compact, caliber, and OR status. Only when this matrix is clarified does the red dot footprint become relevant.

Compatibility: most wrong purchases happen here
OuterImpact lists the M&P family in great detail. This exact list is the reliable basis. A Shield Plus OR is not the same as a Shield Plus non-OR; an EZ needs its own adapter family.

Compatibility limit: Not for optics-ready versions of this standard MRA; EZ requires a different adapter. M2.0 Compact .22 is also excluded.

Optic selection instead of footprint guessing
The classic MRA covers many full/mini red dot patterns. Holosun 407K/507K require the micro adapter family according to OuterImpact. This is especially important for Shield/Carry optics because K footprints are common there.

Mounting, zeroing, and inspection
For dovetail mounting, the manufacturer recommends a sight pusher, torque driver, and extended T-10. The fit of the dovetail is the mechanically critical point. Do not try to compensate for a wrong dovetail with screw force.

Black-Raptor classification: Here the model matrix decides, not the brand name. Whoever says 'M&P' must also clarify OR/EZ/Shield/Compact/caliber.

FAQ
Does the MRA fit on M&P Optics Ready? No. OuterImpact refers to other adapters for optics-ready versions. Does it fit on M&P EZ? No, EZ variants require their own adapter solution according to the manufacturer. Does it fit on M&P M2.0 Compact .22? No. The .22 version is explicitly excluded by the manufacturer. Does it fit on Shield Plus? According to the manufacturer, yes on non-OR versions; a Shield Plus with optics-ready slide needs a different plate. Can I use Holosun 507K? For 407K/507K, OuterImpact refers to the micro adapter family, not the classic MRA. (Show description in original language)

Smith & Wesson M&P · Dovetail-MRA · Non-OR
