PICATINNY · CO-WITNESS · HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE
OuterImpact Adjustable Mount – when Absolute Co-Witness, Lower 1/3 and intermediate heights need to be deliberately set
This is not a normal fixed riser mount. The height is mechanically adjustable and can be adapted to the sight line, backup sights, and head position.
The base is designed for Picatinny systems. Depending on the top plate, it works with MRA footprints, Aimpoint Micro standard, or Trijicon MRO standard. Therefore, it must be clear before purchase which top plate is included in your delivery or required.

Black-Raptor Quick Check

Buy if
You have a Picatinny platform and want to deliberately adjust the red dot height between Absolute Co-Witness, Lower 1/3, and intermediate positions.

Don’t buy if
You are looking for the lightest, ultra-flat direct mount for a pistol or don’t have a Picatinny rail on your system.

Why this mount makes technical sense
With fixed risers, the sight height is predetermined. The OuterImpact Adjustable Mount separates base and top and allows mechanical height adjustment. This is especially useful when backup sights, mask/protection setups, or individual head posture require a different sight line.
OuterImpact claims that after zeroing, the height can be changed without re-zeroing. We treat this as manufacturer
rangabe, not a free pass: After every mechanical elevation adjustment, the zero point should be practically checked. Exactly such checks are part of a reliable setup.
The key facts

Platform: any suitable Picatinny rail according to manufacturer

Elevation range: Absolute Co-Witness to Lower 1/3 plus intermediate positions

Top system: MRA, Aimpoint Micro or Trijicon MRO depending on top plate

Material: Billet 7075-T6, black anodized

Base dimensions: approx. 50.8 × 31.0 mm; base height approx. 15.2 mm

Overall height: depends on top and setting; MRA top according to manufacturer about 0.75–1.05 inch on the base

Practical tip: Don’t just set the height standing in front of the mirror. Check the setup with the actual protective glasses, hearing protection, and possibly headgear you use. A technically perfect Co-Witness height is worthless if you have to unnaturally push your head into the sight line every time.
Compatibility: most wrong purchases happen here
The base requires a Picatinny rail. Optic compatibility depends on the top plate used: MRA covers the broad classic mini red dot family, Aimpoint Micro targets corresponding micro footprints, MRO the Trijicon MRO standard.

Compatibility limit: don’t mix base and top mentally. The Shopify item must be matched exactly with the existing delivery contents; a base alone does not automatically accept every red dot directly.
Optic selection instead of footprint guessing
For RMR/Docter/DeltaPoint/Vortex-Venom-like optics, the MRA top plate is relevant. For Aimpoint Micro-compatible optics and MRO, there are separate tops. This separation is more important than which brand is on the housing.
Mounting, zeroing and checking
OuterImpact names a torque driver and an extended T-10 bit as required tools. After initial mounting, set zero; after every elevation change, verify zero despite manufacturer claims and then regularly check screws and clamping.

Black-Raptor classification: This mount is worthwhile not because of 'more adjustment options' per se, but if you actually need to systematically adapt the sight height to backup sights and ergonomics.
FAQ
What does Co-Witness mean? Co-Witness describes the relative height of red dot and mechanical sight. Absolute Co-Witness places them more on the same line; Lower 1/3 positions the mechanical sight lower in the red dot window. Does the mount fit on AR-15? According to the manufacturer, it fits suitable Picatinny rails and is advertised for AR platforms. The existing rail is decisive, not just the weapon name. Do I have to re-zero after an elevation change? OuterImpact states that after zeroing, the height can be changed without re-zeroing. Black Raptor still recommends practically checking the zero point after every mechanical change. Do I need a separate top plate? That depends on the specific delivery contents. The base works with different tops for MRA, Aimpoint Micro and MRO. Be sure to check which version is offered before purchase
. Is the mount intended for pistols? The core of this adjustable version is a Picatinny rail solution. For pistol-related rear sight mounts, the model-specific OuterImpact MRA adapters are the more suitable product family. (Show description in original language)

OUTERIMPACT · PICATINNY · CO-WITNESS

FAQ

Was bedeutet Co-Witness?
