Blaser R8 Ultimate Carbon Leather

The Blaser R8 Ultimate Carbon Leather is another milestone in the evolution of the R8 bolt-action rifle.

Handmade in Germany, the ergonomically optimized skeleton stock is made entirely of carbon. The innovative carbon fibers make the rifle not only incredibly light but also extremely robust. The stock, like all other R8 models, is divided into a rear and front stock and fits visually perfectly to the black anodized Blaser R8 system housing.

The stock is exclusively made for right-handed shooters with leather grip inserts on the pistol grip, fore-end, and cheek piece. The specially impregnated leather grip inserts feel good to the touch, and the contrasting material mix of leather and carbon appears both elegant and modern. The skeleton stock ensures a completely relaxed position of the shooting hand and arm in all shooting positions – prone, offhand, or supported. The shooter's accuracy is immediately increased, and shooting errors such as the annoying "flinching" are almost completely eliminated. The carbon stock is particularly durable and at the same time a real lightweight, which is a significant advantage during extensive stalking and in the mountains.

The Blaser R8 Ultimate equipment options allow the shooter to customize the weapon even better to their individual needs and preferences. Among other things, an adjustable butt plate can be retrofitted. The height adjustment of the stock significantly improves the sighting behavior in the scope. The contact with the stock allows for a repeatable, clean position, which is a prerequisite for a safe hit. With the help of the adjustable butt pad, the shooter can individually adjust the length of the stock to their body measurements. Additionally, the bolt-action rifle can be equipped with a damping system according to preference. The recoil damping system can be adjusted in terms of damping level.

The Blaser straight-pull bolt system allows for lightning-fast shot sequences while maintaining a relaxed body position without putting down the weapon. The shooter's eye and the barrel of the weapon remain focused on the target. The time gained in target acquisition leads to a safer shot release.

The manual safety system is considered one of the best safety systems. No other mechanical safety can provide the security of a relaxed firing pin spring. The R8 is deliberately cocked only before the shot: the cocking slider is pushed forward. If the shot does not occur, a light pressure on the cocking slider is sufficient to let it slide back and relax the system. At the same time, the weapon cannot be unintentionally opened, as the chamber handle is blocked when the bolt is relaxed and locked. If the magazine, including the trigger unit, is not in the weapon, the R8 cannot be cocked, as the cocking slider does not engage. The weapon is thus secure from unauthorized use.

The magazine change is quick and easy: a short press on the two release buttons ideally positioned above the trigger, and the magazine jumps directly into the hand due to spring force. However, the magazine buttons can also be locked by a slider located in the magazine, preventing the magazine from being unintentionally removed.

The excellent trigger characteristics of the Blaser direct trigger with only 700 g trigger weight are the perfect prerequisite for a precise shot. Optionally, the Blaser Atzl trigger system is offered: the trigger weight can be set to either 200 g or 600 g. Retrofitting is possible at the factory.

The modular Blaser principle: Every Blaser R8 bolt-action rifle is freely configurable. There are countless equipment variants that can all be combined with each other. In bad weather or difficult terrain, for example, an elegant wooden stock can be preserved and replaced with a synthetic stock system. Thanks to interchangeable barrels, one can hunt all types of game with an R8. The large-area barrel bedding in the solid system housing ensures that the weapon shoots accurately again after a caliber change. Another advantage: the R8 can be disassembled and reassembled in seconds without changing the point of impact. Most R8 models are also available as complete left-hand versions with a left-hand stock and left-hand system.

Blaser barrels and bolts: The Blaser R8 is manufactured in the standard barrel contour with a barrel profile of 17 mm at the muzzle. The selection of calibers for the R8 exchange barrels is enormous. Blaser distinguishes between different caliber groups: .22LR, Mini, Standard, Medium, and Magnum. The reason for the classification of calibers is the modular Blaser principle. The Blaser R8 systems and stocks can be individually combined with different barrel types in various calibers. Only when changing the caliber group is it necessary to additionally replace the locking chamber on the bolt. The extremely strong, uniformly supporting radial locking system locks directly in the barrel – without any rotational movement.

The Blaser R8 barrels in the standard barrel profile are available in different barrel lengths: 42 cm, 47 cm, 52 cm, 58 cm, 65 cm. Additionally, the barrels are manufactured with and without barrel threads M 15x1. There is also the option of whether the barrel is delivered with or without sights.

The Blaser R8 barrels and chambers are cold forged and are thus perfectly concentric. The barrel surface is plasma nitrided and blued. The Blaser barrels are characterized by high precision and durability.
