The designation SAPHIRE stands for Sabatti All Purpose Hunting Italian Rifle. The name already indicates that the Italian manufacturer has specifically developed its new repeating rifle for hunting purposes. It fundamentally differs from the traditional Rover rifle. The Saphire offers the possibility to use interchangeable barrels. The newly developed, cold-hammered Multi-Radial Barrel (MRR®) made of AISI-4140(42CrMo4) steel reduces bullet wear, achieves a higher exit velocity, and is significantly more precise in bullet guidance. The open sights are screwed on, allowing for easy removal when using over-barrel suppressors. When not in use, the muzzle thread is covered and protected by a discreet cap. The bolt is CNC-machined from 55-Aluminium. An integrated, two-part Picatinny rail ensures maximum flexibility for scope mounting. The locking head made of NiCrMo steel has received special toughness and hardness through a specific heat treatment.

Die Bezeichung SAPHIRE steht für Sabatti All Purpose Hunting Italian Rifle. Schon der Name weist darauf hin, dass der italienische Hersteller seine neue Repetierbüchse speziell für den jagdlichen Einsatz entwickelt hat. Sie unterscheidet sich deshalb auch grundlegend von der traditionellen Rover-Büchse. Die Saphire bietet die Möglichkeit Wechselläufe zu verwenden.Der von Sabatti neu entwickelte, kaltgehämmerte Multi-Radial-Lauf (MRR®) aus AISI-4140(42CrMo4)-Stahl reduziert den Geschossabrieb, erzielt eine höhere Austrittsgeschwindigkeit und ist wesentlich präziser in der Geschossführung.Die offene Visierung ist angeschraubt, somit kann sie bei Verwendung von Over-Barrel-Schalldämpfern problemlos entfernt werden. Bei Nichtgebrauch wird das Mündungsgewinde durch eine unauffällige Buchse verdeckt und gleichzeitig geschützt. Der Verschluss wurde aus 55-Aluminium CNC-gefräst. Eine integrierte, zweiteilige Picatinny-Schiene sorgt für maximale Flexibilität bei der Zielfernrohrmontage. Der Verriegelungskopf aus NiCrMo-Stahl erhielt durch eine spezielle Wärmebehandlung eine besondere Zähigkeit und Härte.
