Il binomio revolver e Beretta è insolito, poiché la storica azienda di Gardone Val Trompia è universalmente famosa per le sue pistole semiautomatiche (come la serie 70 o la 92). Tuttavia, esiste una rarissima eccezione: il revolver Beretta modello “Velox” in calibro .22 Long Rifle. Non si tratta di un’arma prodotta in Italia. Negli anni ’70, la Beretta aprì una filiale produttiva a San Paolo, in Brasile (Beretta do Brasil). In quegli stabilimenti, per assecondare il mercato locale molto legato alle rivoltelle, venne progettato e costruito un piccolo quantitativo di revolver. Quando nel 1980 la Beretta decise di disinvestire dal paese e vendette l’intera fabbrica brasiliana (macchinari e progetti compresi) alla Taurus, la produzione di questi revolver marchiati Beretta cessò definitivamente, rendendoli pezzi insoliti e molto ricercati dai collezionisti del marchio. L’arma è fortemente ispirata ai classici revolver Smith & Wesson con fusto compatto in acciaio. Il tamburo è da 6 cartucce, ha canna spinata da 3 pollici (circa 7,5 cm), mire fisse e guancette in legno di noce. Sul fusto e sulla canna reca i marchi ufficiali “P. Beretta” o “Beretta do Brasil”, un dettaglio che spiazza chiunque sia abituato a vedere il logo delle tre frecce solo su semiauto o fucili. Interessante per collezione a tema e grande divertimento con il calibro .22 long rifle. Arma Comune.
