Mit dem UM4 können Li-Ion, Li-Ion IMR, NiMH/NiCd und LiFePO4 Akkus geladen werden. Das Nitecore UM4 Ladegerät erkennt den Akkutyp, ermittelt den Akkuzustand, den Ladezustand des Akkus und legt automatisch das richtige Ladeverfahren fest.
Als Standard-Ladestrom sind 500mA voreingestellt. Dieser kann aber manuell, je nach Akkutyp, auf bis zu 1A und im QC-Modus auf bis zu 1,5A erhöht werden.
Tiefentladene Li-Ion Akkus können im UM4 reaktiviert werden (Hierzu Bedienungsanleitung beachten).
