Prodotto a partire dal 1916 dalla Remington Arms – Union Metallic Cartridge Company e prodotti negli stabilimenti di Bridgeport (Pattern 1914 mk.1R, punzone RE) e di Eddystone Arsenal in Pennsylvania (Pattern 1914 mk.1E, punzone ERA) e dalla Winchester Repeating Arms Company, negli stabilimenti di New Haven nel Connecticut (Pattern 1914 mk.1E, punzone W). Questo che presentiamo, in ottime condizioni e di produzione Remington ed è punzonato ERA. Alla fine della Prima Guerra Mondiale molti P14 furono ceduti dalla Gran Bretagna al Canada, Australia, Nuova Zelanda e Sud Africa. Circa 700.000 pezzi furono mantenuti in arsenale come riserva. Nel 1926 fu rinominato “Rifle no. 3 MK I” e, nel 1939 con il WRA (Weedon Repair Act) fu sottoposto a revisione e asportazione del congegno di mira per le lunghe distanze (fino a 2600 yarde), denominato “volley sight”. Le armi a magazzino furono consegnate ad aziende pubbliche (RSAF-Enfield) e private (BSA, Purdy, Greener, Holland & Holland) per operazione di pulizia, ispezione o sostituzione del calcio, oltre la rimozione del “volley sight”. Dopo Dunkerque quest’arma rientrò in servizio, oltre ad armare la Guardia Interna Britannica e la RAF. Canna, meccanica e azione sono ottime, rigature ben definite. Otturatore non monomatricola.
