FORSTER DB1000 · Case Mouth Chamfering
Check inside chamfer and outside burr with a double-sided tool
The DB1000 processes trimmed case mouths from .17 to .45 caliber – directly by hand or with the separately available FORSTER DBT Base.

.17–.45 · manual or with DBT Base

Classification before purchase

Practical use: After trimming, sharp burrs can remain inside and outside. The pointed side applies the inside chamfer, the open side removes the outside burr.
The tool prepares the edge for subsequent steps. It does not trim, size, or expand the case.

Fits well

Trimmed metal cartridge cases from .17 to .45 caliber
Manual case preparation with direct control
Users of the optional FORSTER DBT Base

Fits less well

Cases outside the confirmed caliber range
Those looking for a case trimmer or sizing tool
We
r an explicitly defined VLD angle required

Features with practical impact

Double-sided geometry
One side machines the inside edge, the other the outer burr. This keeps both steps in one tool.

Ground, hardened cutting edges
Clean cutting edges support consistent results when working with low pressure.

Wide caliber range
FORSTER specifies .17 to .45. This covers many common cases but does not replace checking the specific case.

Two drive types
Manual operation keeps feedback well noticeable; the optional DBT Base speeds up series work but requires even more consistent control.

Limits, disadvantages and avoiding bad purchases

Not a VLD specialty tool: No specific VLD angle is specified for the DB1000. If you need a defined bullet guiding chamfer, you should choose a tool explicitly specified for that.
Too much pressure or too many turns unnecessarily remove material. Damaged or cracked cases cannot be reused by deburring.

Technical data with practical consequences

Model
FORSTER DB1000 – clear tool identity.
Working range
.17 to .45 caliber – check specific case before series processing.
Functions
Inside chamfering and outside deburring – two working sides in one hand tool.
Drive
Manual or with optional FORSTER DBT Base – Base not included.
Cutting edges
Ground and hardened – for controlled machining with low pressure.

Scope of delivery
1 FORSTER DB1000 inside/outside deburring tool. DBT Base, drive, cases, trimmer, measuring tools and other tools are not included.
Application and safety

Only process clean, empty and inspected cases. Primer, powder and bullet must not be present. Trim the case to the target length first, then deburr inside and outside with a few even turns.
Completely remove chips and check the muzzle all around. Wear safety glasses during motorized operation and follow the DBT Base instructions.

FAQ
Does the DB1000 deburr inside and outside? Yes. The pointed side is intended for the inside chamfer, the open side removes the outer burr. Can I use it without a machine? Yes. The DB1000 can be used by hand; the FORSTER DBT Base is only an optional drive base. Is the DBT Base included? No. This offer includes only the double-sided deburring tool. Is this a VLD tool? A special VLD angle is not specified for the DB1000. For defined VLD geometry, choose a correspondingly specified tool. When is deburring done? Typically immediately after trimming and before the final inspection of the empty case.

Black-Raptor classification
Universal hand tool for the standard process: DB1000 fits if you want to cleanly rework both case mouth edges after trimming in the .17–.45 range. It is not the right choice for defined special chamfers. (Show description in original language)
