Magpul MOE+: classic 25° AR grip angle with rubber overmolding and Storage Core system.
The MOE+ (MAG416) is easily confused with the K2+, but the two are technically distinct. The MOE+ retains the traditional 25° grip angle and combines reinforced polymer with a full rubber overmold. If you want rubber but not the steeper K2 geometry, this is the one for you.
Grip angle 25° – more traditional than the K2/K2+ at 17°.
Construction Reinforced polymer with Rubber Overmold and a hard polymer base.
Compatibility AR15/M4 pattern according to the manufacturer.
Storage Compatible with optional Magpul Storage Cores; basic Grip Cap included.
MOE+ and K2+ look similar – the angle makes the difference
Both models have a plus sign and both have a rubberized finish. The key difference is the geometry: Magpul specifies a traditional 25° grip angle for the MOE+, while the K2+ is 17°. So if you’re just searching for a “Magpul rubber grip,” it’s easy to order the wrong model.
The MOE+ has a reinforced polymer core with a rubber overmold. A hard polymer base protects the lower section and is designed to reduce snagging. The front and back are also textured. The Magpul Storage Core system remains usable inside; a basic Grip Cap is included, while additional cores are optional.

Which Magpul grip suits which preference?
MOE+ – 25° + rubber
For traditional AR grip geometry with a rubberized surface.
K2+ – 17° + rubber
If you like rubber but want a significantly more vertical geometry.
K2 – 17° polymer
If the steeper geometry works for you but you prefer the feel of plain polymer.
K2-XL – 11° + XL
For large hands and a particularly steep angle; a different size class.
Buy if … you want a more traditional
You prefer a 25° angle and are looking for a rubberized, grippy surface.
Don’t buy if … You specifically want a steeper K2 grip angle. In that case, K2+ is the more logical rubberized alternative.
Practical tip: When comparing MOE+ vs. K2+, decide on the angle first, then consider color or surface. Both are rubberized; the geometry is the much bigger difference.
Installation note: Install only on an unloaded, secured firearm, following the manufacturer’s instructions. After installation, check that it is firmly attached and functions correctly.
FAQ about the Magpul MOE+
What grip angle does MOE+ have? Magpul specifies 25°. What’s the difference between MOE+ and K2+? Both are rubberized. MOE+ has a 25° angle, while K2+ has a 17° angle and a significantly more vertical geometry. Can MOE+ accept Storage Cores? Yes. Magpul lists the optional Storage Cores as compatible. Is the grip made entirely of rubber? No. It has a reinforced polymer core with a rubber overmold and a hard polymer base.
