Vortex Razor HD Gen II-E 1–6x24 JM-1 MOA: clean BDC instead of maximum reticle complexity
The JM-1 model is the deliberately simple Gen-II-E variant: 1–6x, 30 mm tube, 38.3 m field of view at 100 m at 1x, and an SFP BDC reticle. Those who want fine, freely interpretable MOA references should compare the VMR-2 version.
Strength Very wide 1x field of view and clean JM-1 BDC.
Important SFP: The BDC subtensions are defined at 6x, not usable identically across the entire zoom range.
System 30 mm, ½-MOA clicks, covered turrets, CR2032 battery and 11 illumination levels.
Limit 610 g is robust for a 1–6x, but not ultra-light.
JM-1 or VMR-2? That’s the real buying decision
Both Gen-II-E variants share optics, housing, and 1–6x range. The difference lies in the reticle. JM-1 BDC prioritizes a clean sight picture and predefined references. VMR-2 MOA offers more graduated angular references. If you want as little visual information in the glass as possible, JM-1 is closer to right; if you see the reticle as a measuring/reference system, you should check VMR-2.
Because the JM-1 is in the second focal plane, it stays the same size when zooming. This makes it clear at 1x. At the same time, you need to know that BDC marks don’t function as universal truth independent of magnification, ballistics, and setup.

Buy if …
You want a high-quality classic 1–6x LPVO.
A clean BDC is more important than a dense scale.
SFP is deliberately desired for your use.
30 mm mount and compact length fit well into your setup.
Don’t buy if …
You need reticle subtensions proportional at every zoom level.
10x maximum magnification is desired.
VMR-/MRAD-style reference work is more important than BDC simplicity.
You are looking for an especially lightweight LPVO.
Gen II-E 1–6x or Gen III 1–10x?
The Gen II-E is more classic: 30 mm, SFP, and 1–6x. The Razor Gen III 1–10x expands the zoom range and uses FFP but requires a different reticle and operation logic. More zoom is not automatically better – crucial are field of view, reticle plane, weight, and the actually needed top magnification.
You can find more models in Vortex Optics and Sportoptik & Zieloptiken .
Practical tips
Understand SFP before buying: The fixed reticle size is pleasant at 1x but makes scaled references zoom-dependent.
Realistically evaluate 1x: An LPVO remains an optical system with eyebox and eye relief; it is not an electronic red dot.
Plan mounting height ergonomically first: 30 mm only describes the tube, not the suitable height.
Use throw lever when speed in the zoom range counts: It is included with this variant.
Scope of delivery
Seven Oaks lists sunshade, throw lever, protective caps, and cleaning cloth. Mount is not included.
FAQ
Is the JM-1 an FFP reticle? No. This variant is SFP, i.e., second image plane. The reticle stays the same size when zooming. What distinguishes JM-1 from VMR-2 MOA? JM-1 is a deliberately clean BDC concept. VMR-2 offers graduated MOA references and thus a different information density. What mount size is needed? The main tube diameter is 30 mm. The exact mount height must fit the platform and eye position. How heavy is the Gen II-E 1–6x24? Seven Oaks states 610 g. Is 1x the same as a red dot? No. The low magnification offers a very wide field of view, but the scope retains the eyebox, eye relief, and optical geometry of an LPVO.

Vortex Razor HD Gen II-E 1–6x24 JM-1 MOA: aufgeräumtes BDC statt maximaler Absehenkomplexität
Das JM-1-Modell ist die bewusst einfache Gen-II-E-Variante: 1–6x, 30-mm-Tubus, 38,3 m Sehfeld auf 100 m bei 1x und ein SFP-BDC-Absehen. Wer feine, frei interpretierbare MOA-Referenzen will, sollte die VMR-2-Version vergleichen.

Lieferumfang
Seven Oaks nennt Sonnenblende, Throw Lever, Schutzkappen und Reinigungstuch. Eine Montage ist nicht enthalten.
FAQ
Ist das JM-1 ein FFP-Absehen? Nein. Diese Variante ist SFP, also zweite Bildebene. Das Absehen bleibt beim Zoomen gleich groß. Was unterscheidet JM-1 von VMR-2 MOA? Seven Oaks gibt 610 g an. Ist 1x dasselbe wie ein Red Dot? Nein.
