Thermal imaging · 50 mm · LRF
Zentron ZEN M6 Pro 50 mm: Range and distance measurement for open hunting grounds The M6 Pro 50 mm is a thermal imaging monocular with a 640×512 sensor, a 50 mm f/1.0 fixed-focus lens, and an integrated laser rangefinder. Its focus is clear: more detail at a distance rather than the widest possible field of view at close range.
Important before you buy: This is a handheld monocular, not a clip-on or a sight. The fixed 50 mm optics cannot be swapped for a shorter focal length.

Our honest take
The 50 mm configuration is a great fit for field edges, open areas, slopes, and distant observation points. In dense woods, however, the approximately 3x optical base magnification can feel too narrow. The integrated LRF is especially useful when distances are hard to estimate at night and you don't want to pick up a second device.

A good fit if … your focus is on open hunting grounds, stand hunting, stalking, and judging distances.
… you want a 640 sensor, strong thermal contrast, and an integrated LRF in one handheld device.

Probably not a good fit if … you mostly scan short distances in wooded hunting grounds and want the widest possible field of view.
… you're looking for a clip-on, a sight, or a compact thermal imaging device.

Features and practical benefits

640×512 / 12 µm
/ ≤18 mK High sensor resolution and fine thermal sensitivity provide more headroom for small temperature differences and at a distance.

50 mm f/1.0 The fixed focal length prioritizes range and detail. The tradeoff is a narrower field of view than with 35 mm devices.

LRF 5-1200 m Distances are measured directly by the device, according to the manufacturer. This reduces the need to switch devices and helps avoid errors in judging size and distance at night.

2×18650 Replaceable batteries are more practical than permanently integrated cells. Runtime still depends heavily on cold, display use, LRF, recording, and wireless connections.

Limitations, drawbacks, and how to avoid the wrong purchase

50 mm isn’t automatically better: If you prioritize short distances and a wide field of view, a lower base magnification may work better.

Digital zoom: Up to approx. 24× is available, but it doesn’t replace additional true optical resolution.

Range claims: Manufacturer figures for detecting heat sources shouldn’t be equated with reliable identification for hunting.

What’s included
ZENTRON ZEN M6 Pro 50 mm, 2 × 18650 battery, charger, USB-C cable, carrying strap, cleaning cloth, and user manual.

Safe and sensible use
The device is for observation and distance measurement. Thermal imaging shows temperature differences; it doesn’t automatically identify species or sex, or confirm that a shot is safe. Before taking any hunting action, independently verify the animal’s identity, the terrain, the backstop, and the applicable legal requirements. Don’t point the laser at eyes or optical sensors.

FAQ
Is the M6 Pro 50 mm a clip-on device? No. It’s a standalone thermal imaging monocular.

What does the 50 mm optic offer? More detail and higher base magnification at a distance, but less overview at short distances.

How far can the LRF measure? According to the available manufacturer data, from 5 to 1200 m with ±1 m accuracy.

Can I replace the battery? Yes. The device uses two 18650 Li-ion batteries.

Does high digital zoom mean more sensor detail? No. Digital zoom enlarges the existing image and can visibly reduce detail quality at higher levels.

Black Raptor · Your hunting grounds determine the right setup
The M6 Pro 50 mm excels when range matters more than maximum field of view. It’s a sensible setup for open areas; in dense woodland, a shorter focal length may be the better choice. (Show description in original language)

FAQ
Ist das M6 Pro 50 mm ein Vorsatzgerät? Nein. Es ist ein eigenständiges Wärmebild-Handmonokular. Was bringt die 50-mm-Optik?

Black Raptor · Revierprofil entscheidet
