Our Assessment
This chassis is the right base if a Remington 700 Long Action system with CIP 3.850″ magazine length is to be built as a competition-oriented precision rifle. The continuous ARCA fore-end creates a defined rest on the tripod or barricade; M-LOK slots allow you to place weights and accessories exactly where they really make a difference for your shooting position.
The clear system boundary is crucial: It is not a stock for arbitrary long Remington 700 derivatives and not a complete rifle. It accepts a suitable right-hand Long Action with CIP 3.850″, works with AICS magazines, and already includes the SRS-X-Elite stock and the vertical Elite grip. If you have exactly this base, you get a very consistently tunable competition platform instead of a compromise for all uses.
Purchase boundary before the cart: Check action footprint, right-hand version, CIP 3.850″ magazine length, existing barreled action, and the required AICS magazine. A Remington 700 Short Action, a left-hand system, or a different magazine length do not belong in this chassis.
Who it’s made for – and who not
Fits you if …
You are building a Remington 700 Long Action CIP 3.850″ as a right-hand system for PRS, long-range, or match use.
You want to consciously tune the rifle balance with external weights and the rest over the full ARCA length.
You use AICS magazines and want to integrate a stock with SRS-X-XTN interface into the setup.
Not the right choice if …
Your rifle has a Remington 700 Short Action, a left-hand action, or a different long-action/magazine geometry.
You are looking for a finished rifle, a magazine, or a stock without mounting and tuning work.
You prioritize an extremely lightweight hunting configuration; this system is designed for stability, accessory positions, and competition balance.
System understanding before assembly
The official MDT compatibility list names, among others, Bergara B14, Bergara Premier, Weatherby 307, and most Remington 700 LA clones for this Remington 700 Long Action version. This does not replace a fit check: For custom actions, special recoil lugs, or already installed components, the specification of the respective manufacturer applies. The action must fully rest in the recoil lug pocket when inserted.
The chassis uses AICS magazines; the magazine release and magazine well are adjustable. The six supplied plastic dowels serve to reduce lateral magazine play and to tune feeding reliability according to the magazine used. This is not an invitation to experiment without function checks: After each adjustment folg
Trainer Tip: First cheek weld, then balance. Adjust the height and length of the SRS-X-Elite stock so you can calmly get on target behind the rifle without shoulder tension. Only then shift or add forend weight. Mounting the weight "somewhere in front" first often just masks an unsuitable stock position.
Construction, interfaces and useful additions
The forend offers a continuous ARCA interface and M-LOK mounts. For targeted balance adjustment, the MDT M-LOK external forend weights are the right addition. The contact area and grip feel can be expanded with the MDT Baker Wings on the M-LOK forend. Both links lead to active listings and complement exactly this interface – they do not replace the suitable action or the AICS magazine.
The Elite grip is AR-15 compatible; the included vertical Elite grip comes with a connector bar. At the rear, the XTN interface works with the included SRS-X-Elite stock. The adjustable length range of the stock with the supplied buttstock is 12.25″ to 14.75″. The maximum barrel diameter is 1.350″. These dimensions are not an approval for other ACC generations or other inlets.
User Tip 1: Insert the barreled action first with the recoil lug fully seated. For Remington 700 LA CIP 3.850″ MDT specifies a 3/16″ hex key and 60–65 in-lb for the action screws. Tighten the front screw first, then the rear screw as specified.
User Tip 2: For the magazine release, loosen the front T10 screw, adjust the magazine height, and then secure the front screw with 10 in-lb. Check your specific AICS magazine for controlled engagement and play, not just "fits somehow."
User Tip 3: The two M-LOK thumb rests can be mounted in the desired position. MDT specifies a 1/8″ hex key and 15 in-lb. Set the position only after a dry cheek weld; a thumb rest should stabilize the trigger hand grip, not force the hand into an unnatural position.
Buy if / Don’t buy if
Buy if
a Remington 700 LA CIP 3.850″ right-hand action and an AICS magazine concept are already fixed and you want to specifically configure balance, stock position, and contact area for precise competition distances.
Don’t buy if
footprint, hand side, or magazine length are still open, an ultralight hunting rifle is to be created, or there is no willingness to properly check mounting and magazine function according to instructions.

MDT · ACC Elite · Remington 700 LA
