The UTG eyecup for scopes blocks side light at the ocular and supports a steadier, more repeatable head position. The flexible rubber set is designed for ocular diameters of 36, 40, 41.5, and 43 mm and is especially suitable for bright shooting ranges, changing light conditions, and busy backgrounds.
Important limit: An eyecup improves shielding and orientation but does not correct incorrect eye relief, improper mounting height, or unsuitable stock position.
Why an eyecup?
Side light, reflections, and movement outside the ocular image can disturb perception even if the scope is technically correctly adjusted. The eyecup forms a soft edge at the ocular, reduces peripheral distraction, and helps position the eye consistently behind the optical axis.
Key features
flexible rubber eyecup for scopes
designed for 36 mm, 40 mm, 41.5 mm, and 43 mm ocular diameters
three inserts of different thickness for adjustment
folded, pliable design
reduces side stray light
supports a more consistent head and eye position
Lockable Hoop to secure on the ocular according to the manufacturer
Our assessment
The UTG eyecup is a small accessory with a clear purpose. Especially in bright side light or high contrast, it can improve concentration on the target image. Its benefit, however, depends entirely on fit: the outer diameter of the ocular is decisive, not the scope brand.
Buy / don’t buy
Buy if: your ocular has one of the specified diameters and you want to reduce stray light and peripheral distraction.
Don’t buy if: the ocular diameter is outside the range, controls or illumination unit block the fit, or you want to compensate for a fundamentally wrong optics setup.
Practical tip: Measure the outer diameter where the eyecup actually sits. After fitting, check that the diopter ring, illumination, and magnification adjustment remain free. The cup should sit without tension and not rest on controls.
Classification: Compared to a sunshade on the objective, the eyecup acts directly at the eye and mainly reduces side light at the ocular. It neither changes light transmission nor the optical resolution of the scope.
Technical classification
Product type: eyecup / ocular shade
Material: flexible rubber
compatible ocular diameters: 36 / 40 / 41.5 / 43 mm
adapter: three inserts according to manufacturer
function: stray light shielding and positioning aid
FAQ
Does the eyecup improve optical quality? It does not change the optics itself. Its benefit lies in shielding stray light and a steadier position behind the ocular. Does it fit every scope? No. The decisive factors are ocular diameter, shape, and free space around controls. Can it compensate for too short eye relief? No. Eye relief, stock position, and mounting height must be correctly set independently. Black-Raptor short summary: Useful, honest optics accessory for suitable oculars – strong against side light, but no substitute for a properly tuned scope setup.

Okular · Streulicht · Passform
Material Flexibles Gummi; nachgiebige Anlage statt harter Anschlagfläche.
Funktion Streulichtabschirmung und Positionshilfe am Okular.
Sicherung Lockable Hoop laut vorhandenem Herstellerdatensatz.
Lieferumfang
1 × UTG Augenmuschel SCP-ES403 mit drei Anpassungseinsätzen laut vorhandenem Datensatz. Zielfernrohr und weiteres Zubehör sind nicht enthalten.
FAQ
Verbessert die Augenmuschel die Bildqualität? Nein.
