NEXTORCH TA30D · 2,200 Lumens
Range-oriented 18650 handheld flashlight with direct tail switch logic The NEXTORCH TA30D combines up to 2,200 lumens, 410 m standardized beam distance, and 42,025 cd in a 137 mm long housing. The focus is on quick operation, range, and flexible power supply.
Important before purchase: 410 m is a standardized beam distance value and not a guaranteed detection range. For close range and longer runtime, the lower modes are often more useful than continuous high.
Black-Raptor classification
The TA30D suits users looking for a slimmer flashlight in 18650 format with significant range reserve. Compared to larger 21700 models, it remains more compact; compared to typical EDC flashlights, it offers more range and a tail switch logic designed for quick access.
The maximum output is a reserve, not a continuous state. Heat, battery condition, and electronic regulation affect the real output over time.
Fits well / Fits less well
Fits well if … you want high range, momentary light, direct strobe access, LOCK, and the choice between 18650 battery and two CR123A cells.
Fits less well if … you primarily want a small keychain/EDC flashlight, extremely wide close-range light, or hours of maximum output without regulation.
Practical effect of the most important functions
2,200 lumens / 410 m The combination is clearly range-oriented. For terrain and longer distances, it offers reserves, while reflective surfaces in close range can quickly dazzle with high output.
One-step strobe & momentary light Important switching functions are reachable without long cycling. This allows vo
clear that the user knows the pressure points securely.
LOCK function Important for transport in bag or backpack, because accidental activation can cause heat and unnecessary energy consumption.
Dual-Fuel The included 18650 battery covers regular use; two matching CR123A cells can be used as an alternative according to available product data.
TA30D or larger MAX type?
The TA30D uses the slimmer 18650 concept and remains more compact at 137 mm. A larger 21700 type makes more sense if maximum peak performance and larger energy reserve are more important than dimensions and dual-fuel flexibility.
Those who mainly want to cover camping, vehicle, or everyday use in close range may not need full range orientation at all.
Limits, disadvantages & avoiding bad purchases
Do not confuse beam distance with detection distance: Weather, contrast, eyesight, and target size influence what is actually reliably detected.
High generates heat: Maximum output is thermally demanding and is not promised as a permanently constant performance.
CR123A only as a matching pair: Do not mix different brands, charge states, or cell types; do not charge primary cells.
Handle glass breaker elements consciously: The ceramic elements on the lens crown are functional components and can damage sensitive surfaces.
Technical data with practical interpretation
Maximum output 2,200 lm – to be understood as a short-term power reserve.
Beam distance 410 m according to manufacturer/ANSI specification – no promise for detail recognition at 410 m.
Light intensity 42,025 cd – explains the range-oriented character of the light cone.
Runtime up to 50 h on Low according to available data – do not confuse with runtime on High.
Energy 1× 18650 with 3,400 mAh or 2× CR123A – two power concepts for different uses.
Dimensions 137 × 30 × 23 mm – significantly more compact than many high-performance models with 21700 cell.
Weight 102 g without battery – the actual carrying weight increases with the energy source used.
Protection IPX8 up to 3 m and drop height 3 m according to available product data – robust design, but check function and sealing surfaces after heavy use.
Scope of delivery
NEXTORCH TA30D, FR-1 guide ring, USB-C rechargeable 18650 battery with 3,400 mAh, USB-C cable, clip, wrist strap, CR123A adapter, and user manual according to available Shopify data set.
Safe use & care
Do not shine directly into eyes and do not cover the switched-on flashlight. Use LOCK during transport. When using two CR123A, only use a matching pair and never charge primary cells. Dry after moisture, keep sealing surfaces clean, and do not reuse damaged cells.
FAQ
Are 2,200 lumens maintained permanently? No. Maximum output, temperature control, and battery condition affect performance over time. Are 410 m a safe detection distance? No. It is a standardized beam distance value. Actual detection depends on environment and target. Can the TA30D be operated with CR123A? Yes, according to available data set with two matching CR123A cells. Only use a matching pair. Is a battery included? Yes. The available Shopify data set lists a USB-C rechargeable 18650 battery with 3,400 mAh in the scope of delivery. When is a larger model more sensible? When maximum peak performance and larger energy reserve are more important than more compact dimensions and dual-fuel flexibility.
Black Raptor buying guide
Range, direct operation, and flexible power supply – without the size of a MAX model. The TA30D is a clear choice when exactly this combination is needed. Those who mainly seek close range, integrated leisure modes, or maximum battery reserve should not buy solely because of the 2,200-lumen number. (Show description in original language)
