Continental LPVO · SCOC-44 From quick acquisition to a clear aiming point at 6× On the range or in the hunting position, there’s little time for a complicated sight picture. The Continental SCOC-44 combines a true 1× image for both-eyes-open aiming with 6× reserve and a bright VEC-FDR fiber dot. What matters is not just the zoom, but the combination of a wide field of view, 100 mm eye relief, and precise 0.1-MIL adjustment. View matching hunting optics
Our honest assessment
The SCOC-44 is a compact 1–6×24 LPVO for sport, competition, and hunting applications. Its strength lies in the quick switch between low magnification and medium distance. The fiber-illuminated center remains clearly visible in bright daylight; the etched VEC-FDR reticle also works without illumination. It is not a classic twilight optic with a large objective lens nor a replacement for high magnification at long distances. At 510 g net weight, it is also not ultralight. Those primarily hunting from a stand in deep twilight or seeking fine detail observation are better served with a hunting optic designed for that purpose.
Fits well if … you want a true 1–6× range for quick to medium distances, prefer a MIL system, and need a clearly visible center dot in daylight.

Schutzkappen bei Transpor t close and remove the battery during long-term storage.
FAQ Is the SCOC-44 an FFP or SFP scope? It is an SFP model. The reticle stays the same size when zooming. If you want to read holdover marks proportionally at every magnification, you need a properly designed FFP model. Does the adjustment work in MIL or MOA? The SCOC-44 works with 0.1 MIL per click. Similar Continental models with G4 reticle sometimes use MOA; these specifications must not be applied to the SCOC-44. Is the illumination usable without a battery? The fiber dot requires a CR2032. However, the etched reticle remains visible when the illumination is off or the battery is dead. Are mounting rings included? Yes. The current manufacturer scope of delivery includes a pair of 30 mm Picatinny rings. Whether their height fits your specific setup must be checked separately. Is 1× really like a red dot sight? The lowest level is designed as a true 1× and allows shooting with both eyes open. An LPVO is still a scope with a defined eye box; it is less tolerant of an unsteady head position than an open red dot sight. What is the 24 mm objective for? It keeps the glass compact and supports a wide field of view. For very low light, a larger, hunting-oriented objective offers more reserve but is usually bigger and heavier.
