The MAV-P08 raises a compatible red dot sight with Aimpoint Micro interface by 21.1 mm above a Picatinny rail and offsets it forward through the cantilever design. This creates space in the setup and can precisely adjust the optical axis to the magnifier, stop, and platform.

Our honest assessment
The MAV-P08 is a lightweight, fixed riser mount – no quick-release system and no universal adapter. It only fits if three interfaces match simultaneously: Picatinny on the platform, Aimpoint Micro hole pattern on the sight, and 21.1 mm additional saddle height in the desired setup.
The cantilever design can gain rail space and bring the red dot sight closer to a magnifier. However, it does not correct an unsuitable magnifier height, different screws, or a footprint that only looks similar.
Fits well if … you mount a red dot sight with confirmed Aimpoint Micro interface on Picatinny, seek a medium height increase, and have measured the common axis height with magnifier or stop in advance.
Fits less well if … you want a QD solution, 11-mm prism rail
iene, direct plate mounting or a specific co-witness height without measurement is expected. There is no general approval for similarly looking footprints.
What the 21.1 mm practically changes
Higher sight line The head can remain more upright on suitable platforms. Whether this is more ergonomic depends on the stock, cheek rest, protective glasses, hearing protection, and your starting height.
Cantilever forward The offset design shifts the sight without occupying a longer rail surface. This can help with tight clearances to magnifiers or controls.
Fixed screw mounting The MAV-P08 is designed for low weight and a solid connection. For frequent tool-free removal, the MAV-QD10 is the more suitable comparison.
No automatic co-witness guarantee 21.1 mm is the riser height, not automatically the finished optical axis height. The optic housing and initial mounting must be factored into the overall calculation.
Instructor tip: assemble dry first, then confirm
Before tightening, loosely align sight, riser, and magnifier. Check eye position, controls, ejection area, and that all screws engage without tension. Only then tighten according to the optic manufacturer’s instructions, mark screws, and confirm point of impact at the shooting range. After the first shooting series, check fit and markings again.
MAV-P08 in comparison
The variants differ not only visually but solve different height issues. The MAV-P05 builds lower at 12.8 mm. The MAV-P10 raises more at 25.6 mm. If tool-free removal is more important, the MAV-QD10 offers a QD clamp at 20.5 mm height.
The key is not “more height” but the correct overall axis from rail, riser, optic, and possibly magnifier.
