Mit der HK417 ist Heckler & Koch ein effektives und variables Sturmgewehr gelungen, das aufgrund des stärkeren 7.62 Kalibers als großkalibrigerer Bruder des HK416 gilt. Sowohl das Original, als auch der hochwertige Softair-Nachbau bringen knapp 4,5 kg auf die Waage. Das stolze Gewicht lässt sich auf die Vollmetallbauweise zurückführen, die nicht nur robust in der Hand liegt, sondern auch optisch einiges hermacht. Das Blow-Back-System erzeugt einen starken Rückstoß bei jedem Schuss und unterstreicht somit den wertigen Eindruck des Gewehrs. Die HK417 bietet dem Schützen mit einstellbarem Shoot-up, Flip-up und einer beidseitig bedienbaren Visierung genügend Möglichkeiten, das Gewehr perfekt auf seine Vorlieben einzustellen. Auf der langen Schiene können diverse Zieloptiken montiert werden, die seitlichen sowie die untere Rail sind zur Montage von Zubehör vorgesehen.
