Die Montage erfolgt werkzeuglos. Dazu wird der vorhandene Magazinboden entfernt, der AlphaGrip aufgesetzt und der Magazinboden anschließend unter dem AlphaGrip wieder eingerastet. Der AlphaGrip ist als Hohlkörper konstruiert und verändert die Ladekapazität des Magazins nicht.
Gefertigt wird der AlphaGrip im Spritzgussverfahren aus glasfaserverstärktem Kunststoff. Das Produkt wurde in Deutschland entwickelt und speziell auf das vorgesehene Magpul PMAG abgestimmt.
