Unusual in design, impressive in performance – this is how the first impression of the Cobra System Adder can be aptly described. Its distinctive triangular shape is noticeable at first glance. However, this is not just an optical highlight, but the result of a well-thought-out construction that significantly eases the cocking of the crossbow.
The long lever that connects the pistol grip and front part serves as the central element of the cocking mechanism. When this is released and moved forward, the entire trigger unit, including the safety, shifts forward and engages the relaxed string. When the lever is pulled back, the unit glides back into its starting position and cocks the string – the crossbow is ready to shoot. Thanks to the lever action, significantly less effort is required compared to conventional systems.
Advanced technology with integrated magazine
In addition to its strong performance, the Adder also impresses with a high level of safety, such as an integrated dry-fire safety that prevents damage.
A special highlight is the revised magazine: Above the barrel, up to seven bolts can be accommodated. When cocking, a bolt is automatically loaded, making the crossbow immediately ready for use. The tedious manual insertion of individual bolts is completely eliminated. Compared to the previous version, the capacity has been increased from five to seven bolts, and reloading has also been significantly simplified.
Robust materials and thoughtful equipment
The high quality is also evident in the choice of materials: The body is made of durable plastic, while the barrel and cocking lever are made of metal. The limbs are made of pressed fiberglass. An integrated sight (rear and front sight) on the upper rail allows for precise aiming, and a scope can also be mounted. Additional Picatinny rails provide space for accessories such as tactical grips.

Ungewöhnlich im Design, beeindruckend in der Leistung – so lässt sich der erste Eindruck der Cobra System Adder treffend beschreiben. Bereits auf den ersten Blick fällt ihre markante, dreieckige Bauform auf. Diese ist jedoch nicht nur ein optisches Highlight, sondern das Ergebnis einer durchdachten Konstruktion, die das Spannen der Armbrust deutlich erleichtert.
Der lange Hebel, der Pistolengriff und Frontpartie verbindet, dient als zentrales Element des Spannmechanismus. Wird dieser gelöst und nach vorne bewegt, verschiebt sich die gesamte Abzugseinheit inklusive Sicherung nach vorn und greift die entspannte Sehne. Beim Zurückführen des Hebels gleitet die Einheit wieder in ihre Ausgangsposition und spannt dabei die Sehne – die Armbrust ist schussbereit. Durch die Hebelwirkung ist dafür deutlich weniger Kraftaufwand nötig als bei herkömmlichen Systemen.
Weiterentwickelte Technik mit integriertem Magazin
Neben der starken Leistung überzeugt die Adder auch durch ein hohes Maß an Sicherheit, etwa durch eine integrierte Leerschusssicherung, die Beschädigungen verhindert.
Ein besonderes Highlight ist das überarbeitete Magazin: Oberhalb des Laufs können bis zu sieben Bolzen untergebracht werden. Beim Spannen wird automatisch ein Bolzen nachgeladen, wodurch die Armbrust sofort einsatzbereit ist. Das lästige manuelle Einlegen einzelner Bolzen entfällt damit komplett. Im Vergleich zur Vorgängerversion wurde die Kapazität von fünf auf sieben Bolzen erhöht, und auch das Nachladen wurde deutlich vereinfacht.
Robuste Materialien und durchdachte Ausstattung
Auch bei der Materialwahl zeigt sich die hohe Qualität: Der Korpus besteht aus widerstandsfähigem Kunststoff, während Lauf und Spannhebel aus Metall gefertigt sind. Der Wurfarm besteht aus gepresstem Fiberglas. Eine integrierte Visierung (Kimme und Korn) auf der oberen Schiene ermöglicht präzises Zielen, zusätzlich kann ein Zielfernrohr montiert werden. Weitere Picatinny-Schienen bieten Platz für Zubehör wie taktische Griffe.
