For sport shooters, the use of a silencer is legally excluded. The Rotex-X muzzle flash suppressor attachment from Brügger & Thomet offers a consistent alternative: the authentic silencer look – without any sound pressure reduction and thus legally irrelevant. The attachment is freely available and specifically designed for AR platforms.
The Rotex-X is mounted directly onto an existing NATO / A2 muzzle flash suppressor and only extends the weapon by 45 mm. There is explicitly no sound technical effect.
More than just looks – noticeable advantages in shooting operations
Even without sound suppression, the Rotex-X provides real functional benefits:
- The gas exit is directed forward – similar to a silencer
- Reduced recoil through controlled gas flow
- Significantly less lateral residue, which protects neighboring shooters
- In the prone position: less dust and particle swirling, no irritated target image, and lower risk of malfunctions
This effect is immediately noticeable, especially in competitive use at the range.

Schalldämpfer-Optik – rechtlich unbedenklich – praxisnaher Nutzen
Für Sportschützen ist der Einsatz eines Schalldämpfers waffenrechtlich ausgeschlossen. Der Rotex-X Mündungsfeuerdämpfer-Aufsatz von Brügger & Thomet bietet hierfür eine konsequente Alternative: die authentische Schalldämpfer-Optik – ohne jede Schalldruckminderung und damit rechtlich irrelevant. Der Aufsatz ist frei erwerbbar und speziell für AR-Plattformen konzipiert.
Der Rotex-X wird direkt auf einen vorhandenen NATO / A2 Mündungsfeuerdämpfer montiert und verlängert die Waffe lediglich um 45 mm. Eine schalltechnische Wirkung findet ausdrücklich nicht statt.
