At the beginning of the 20th century, in 1924, the "GB" cartridge was developed in Eibar. At the initiative of the Eibar resident D. Jacinto Gárate, who founded the company Gárate y Block, one of the pioneering products in the Spanish market for hunting and competition ammunition appeared. Due to the widespread use of GB cartridges, the company expanded its production in 1966 and moved to Vitoria.
