In this version, the Terra ED 8x42 binoculars from Zeiss have the classic color of optical instruments: an elegant black. The Terra ED 8x42 is robust, reliable, and user-friendly. Its slim design makes it comfortable to hold and reduces its weight. The precise optics and the water-repellent multi-coating of the lenses provide brilliant, high-contrast, and detailed images, even in rainy weather. With 88% light transmission, it is a good instrument for use in hunting at dusk and always ensures a good overview with its large field of view.

The "ED" in the name of this binocular series stands for "Extra-Low-Dispersion." This refers to a fluorine-rich glass melt from which lenses are made that effectively compensate for chromatic aberration.
