Barrel and grip frame are blued black. The barrel is labelled as follows: Left side of barrel "THE RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS". Top of barrel COLT'S PT. FA. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. Right side of barrel PEACEMAKER BUNTLINE. 22. frame left side 77 in shield on barrel root and above trigger guard PAT. SEPT. 19.1871 underneath JULY 2.72. JAN. 19.75 and Colt horse. The grip panels are made of mottled mother-of-pearl. The revolver is finely chiselled on the underside of the grip.
