With the BUBIX Bro, the Austrian company Bubix GmbH presents its latest development in the field of sub-compact pistols.
As an experienced pistol designer, W. Bubits has already made an international name for himself through the development of the Steyr M9 pistol and the Caracal as well as the BB6 developer.
The BUBIX Bro pistol, available in Germany since January 2022, is now the youngest development in the Bubits family. The weapon is available in many color variations.
The compact pistol measuring 161.5x24.4x121mm has a barrel length of approx. 90mm. This places the BUBIX Bro between the Glock 43 and the Glock 19.
Special features include the closed bolt back with laterally mounted ejection port, the wide trigger with very short reset and without integrated safety lever, and the innovative frame safety, which only disengages the weapon when the grip is fully wrapped. Other highlights are the ambidextrous magazine release and slide stop lever as well as the one-button disassembly.
The rather slim frame of the BUBIX Bro suggests the use of a single-stack magazine by its size, but in fact a double-stack magazine with a capacity of 12+1 cartridges is used.
This gives the weapon a significant advantage in firepower compared to competing models with single-stack magazines while maintaining a balanced grip.
In addition, the BUBIX Bro has a slight front heaviness, which is usually only found in the field of sport pistols. Due to the bolt design and an innovative locking block, the barrel of the BUBIX Bro only tilts a few millimeters when firing, keeping the weapon very stable in the hold line without major muzzle rise. In the loaded state, a signal pin protrudes visibly and tangibly from the top of the bolt, reliably indicating the presence of a cartridge in the chamber.
The original BUBIX Bro plastic holster, which you receive with every weapon, almost completely encloses the entire pistol. A lock can be attached in the trigger area. The holster also features a retention cord that can be attached to the belt or waistband and remains on the body when quickly drawing the pistol.
Another gimmick worth mentioning is the tool-free base plate exchange of the magazines. The weapon is also available in 3 different calibers - 9x18 Makarov, 9x19, and 9x21 IMI. The barrels can be exchanged in the same weapon with the same bolt, which is another highlight of this Austrian manufactory pistol.

Mit der BUBIX Bro präsentiert das österreichische Unternehmen Bubix GmbH seine neueste Entwicklung im Bereich der Sub-Compact Pistolen.
Als erfahrener Pistolenkonstrukteur hat sich W. Bubits bereits durch die Entwicklung der Pistole Steyr M9 und der Caracal sowie als Entwickler der BB6 einen internationalen Namen gemacht.
Die seit Januar 2022 in Deutschland erhältliche Pistole BUBIX Bro ist nun die jüngste Entwicklung der Familie Bubits. Die Waffe ist in vielen Farbvariationen verfügbar.
Die 161,5x24,4x121mm kompakte Pistole hat eine Lauflänge von ca. 90mm. Damit ist die BUBIX Bro zwischen der Glock 43 und der Glock 19 angesiedelt.
Als Besonderheiten zählen der geschlossene Verschlussrücken mit seitlich gelagertem Auswurffenster, der breite Abzug mit sehr kurzem Reset und ohne integriertes Sicherheitszüngel und die neuartige Griffstücksicherung, welche nur beim vollständigen Umgreifen des Griffes die Waffe entsichert. Weitere Highlights sind der beidseitige Magazinknopf und Verschlussfanghebel sowie die Ein-Knopf Zerlegung.
Das recht schlanke Griffstück der BUBIX Bro lässt vom Maß her die Verwendung eines einreihigen Magazins vermuten, es kommt allerdings tatsächlich ein doppelreihiges Magazin mit einer Kapazität von 12+1 Patronen zum Einsatz.
Damit bietet die Waffe gegenüber den Wettbewerbsmodellen mit Single-Stack Magazin einen erheblichen Vorteil in der Feuerkraft bei einer ausgewogenen Handlage.
Außerdem hat man der BUBIX Bro eine leichte Kopflastigkeit angedeihen lassen, die man normalerweise nur im Bereich der Sportpistolen findet. Aufgrund der Verschlusskonstruktion und einem neuartigen Verriegelungsblock kippt der Lauf der BUBIX Bro nur um wenige Millimeter beim Schuss ab und damit bleibt die Waffe ohne größere Hochschlagbewegung sehr stabil in der Haltelinie. Im durchgeladenen Zustand ragt aus der Verschlussoberseite seh- und fühlbar ein Signalstift heraus, der das Vorhandensein einer Patrone im Patronenlager verlässlich anzeigt.
Das Original BUBIX Bro Kunststoffholster, welches sie mit jeder Waffe erhalten, umschließt fast vollständig die gesamte Pistole. Im Abzugsbereich ist das Anbringen eines Schlosses möglich. Außerdem verfügt das Holster über eine Fangschnur, welche am Gürtel oder Hosenbund befestigt werden kann und beim schnellen Ziehen der Pistole am Körper verbleibt.
Ein weiteres Gimick, welches nicht unerwähnt bleiben soll, ist der werkzeuglose Grundplattentausch der Magazine. Die Waffe ist zudem in 3 verschiedenen Kalibern verfügbar - 9x18 Makarov, 9x19 und 9x21 IMI. Die Läufe können in ein und derselben Waffe mit gleichem Verschluss ausgetauscht werden, was ein weiteres Highlight dieser österreichischen Manufaktur-Pistole darstellt.
