The 6.5x68 is a highly fast cartridge with a very elongated trajectory, excellent shooting precision, and particular suitability for very long shots. The cartridge is predestined for mountain hunting of chamois, ibex, weaker wild sheep, or Scottish red deer.

The 6.5x68 was already introduced in 1940 as a high-performance cartridge. With the 6.0 g RWS soft point bullet, bullet speeds of 1,150 m/s can certainly be achieved. The 8.2 g RWS pointed bullet is particularly well suited for the 6.5x68.
