El Long Johns 400, fabricado con un material ligeramente más grueso, 400 g/m², se teje en redondo en máquinas especiales y, por lo tanto, no tiene costuras longitudinales. Esto tiene la ventaja de que la ropa que se lleva directamente sobre el cuerpo no irrita y, por lo tanto, es especialmente cómoda y resistente al desgaste.
