Der Geissele Super Modular Rail MK16 Handschutz, der hammergeschmiedete Lauf und das mittellange Gassystem bilden zusammen ein Paket, das die Trefferwahrscheinlichkeit messbar erhöht. Das USASOC URGI wurde für die neuen M855A1 (AB57)-Munition entwickelt und nutzt auch deren Fähigkeiten voll aus. Sobald das USASOC URGI auf einem bestehenden System installiert ist, stellt es im Grunde eine völlig neue Waffe dar. Das USASOC URGI ist nahezu ein Klon der oberen Empfängergruppe, die derzeit beim USASOC im Einsatz ist.
