The model was introduced in 1895 in the Russian Empire as a service revolver and later also used in the Soviet Union. Originally developed by Léon Nagant, the revolver features a seven-shot cylinder and an unusual design for its time.
A special feature of the Nagant M1895 is the so-called gas seal system. When cocked, the cylinder is pushed forward against the barrel, which, in combination with the special Nagant ammunition, reduces gas loss between the cylinder and barrel.
The revolver is in condition 3 and shows significant age- and use-related wear. This may include heavier scratches on the bluing as well as wear on the grip panels.
The condition description is a general assessment. Not every wear mark typically associated with this condition rating must be present on the offered firearm.
The firearm has no valid official proof and is explicitly not offered as ready to fire or approved for shooting. Transfer is only made to appropriately authorised buyers, such as firearms dealers or collectors, provided the required proof law conditions are met.
