ELD Match (Extremely Low Drag Match) Geschosse sind ein echter technologischer Fortschritt, mit der optimalen Geschoßform durch die Hitzeschild-Spitze und weiterer Konstruktionselemente die besten BC-Werte in der jeweiligen Gewichtsklasse liefern und eine von Los zu Los überaus hohe Gleichmäßigkeit garantieren. Herkömmliche Polymerspitzen aller Hersteller schmelzen im Flug, wenn die Geschosse einen hohen BC-Wert haben. Während der Tests der ELD-X-Jagdgeschosse, haben Hornady® Ingenieure durch das Verwenden des Doppler Radars entdeckt, dass herkömmliche Geschoßspitzen schmelzen und sich im Flug deformierten, wodurch sich der BC-Wert vermindert und sich negativ auf die Präzision auswirkt. Besonders auf Distanzen ab 365 Meter. Diese Entdeckung hat Hornady® dazu bewegt, ein widerstandsfähiges Polymer zu finden um damit die zum Patent angemeldete Hitze Shield Spitze zu entwickeln, die der aerodynamischen Hitze widersteht. Diese revolutionäre neue Geschossspitzentechnologie hat zur Schaffung der fortschrittlichsten Matchgeschosse auf dem Markt geführt-ELD Match. Diese signifikant bessere Präzision macht die ELD Match-Geschosse zu den besten am Markt. Eine optimale sekantogive und Boattail-Form zusammen mit der zum Patent angemeldeten Heat Shield Spitze ergeben ein Geschoss mit dem höchstmöglichen ballistischen Koeffizienten und in seiner Klasse.
