The optics
The lenses of the Abbe-König prism system are made of multi-coated, fluoride-rich ED glass (Extra-Low-Dispersion), which effectively compensates for chromatic aberration. The brilliant images are very bright with a transmission value of 93%, razor-sharp to the edge, true to color, and rich in detail and contrast. The close focus is 2.3 m and the large field of view is 129 m at 1,000 m.
The device
The high-quality optics are securely housed in an ergonomically and elegantly designed magnesium body, which is protected against shocks by its rubber armouring. The micro-design bridge allows a good grip. The housing is filled with nitrogen to prevent internal fogging and is waterproof up to 100 Mbars/cm. Its weight of 1,242 g is appropriate for the size of the objective lens; many 56-mm binoculars from other brands are heavier. The integrated thread for mounting on a tripod is helpful for longer observations and digiscoping.
