Il Model 1892 (o "The 92" come la maggior parte di noi lo chiama) è stato il seguito di Winchester all'incredibile Model 1886. Il Model 1886 è stato progettato per grandi calibri da caccia/militari degli anni 1800, come il 45-70 Govt. Poco dopo il suo sviluppo, è stata lanciata la richiesta di un nuovo fucile a leva (ma più compatto) adatto per calibri da pistola. Presto, John Moses Browning produsse il prototipo del Model 1892 per Winchester e il resto è storia.
Questo Model 92 Short Rifle è in una classica configurazione con canna rotonda in due eccellenti calibri – il 357 Mag. è adatto per la caccia e le attività di cowboy action, mentre il 44 Rem. Mag. si distingue come un ottimo calibro per la caccia in condizioni di sottobosco con animali veloci. L'attenzione ai dettagli è qualcosa che noterai, come il calciolo a mezzaluna in acciaio monopezzo proprio come gli originali, e un mirino anteriore con perla d'oro Marble Arms che aggiunge un tocco di classe tradizionale.

It is considered by many as the smoothest, most compact, handiest and most beautiful lever action ever offered by Winchester. The Model 1892 (or "The 92" as most of us call it) was Winchester's follow-up to the amazing Model 1886. The Model 1886 was designed for large hunting/military calibers of the 1800s, like 45-70 Govt. Soon after it's development, the call went out for a new (but more compact) lever rifle suitable for pistol calibers. Soon, John Moses Browning produced the Model 1892 prototype for Winchester and the rest is history.
This Model 92 Short Rifle is in a classic round barrel configuration in two excellent calibers – the 357 Mag. is suitable for hunting and cowboy action duties, while the 44 Rem. Mag. makes its mark as a great caliber for hunting in brushy conditions with fast moving game. Attention to detail is something you will notice like the one-piece steel crescent buttplate just like the originals, and a Marble Arms gold bead front sight that adds a dose of traditional class.
