Anche con lunghezze di canna inferiori a 50 cm, raggiunge valori balistici che con altre munizioni potenti possono essere ottenuti solo in combinazione con canne più lunghe.
Queste caratteristiche rendono l'8,5x55 Blaser un calibro con un campo di applicazione insolitamente ampio.
Va dalle aree di caccia domestiche fino alla caccia all'alce o a grandi antilopi.
Il caricamento è qui il Norma Soft Point, noto anche come Norma Bleispitze. Un proiettile di piombo con una punta morbida in piombo per un'espansione affidabile all'impatto e una buona precisione in ogni colpo.

Schalldämpfer an Büchsen gewinnen mehr und mehr an Bedeutung.
Um die Waffe bei deren Einsatz so kompakt wie möglich zu halten,sind kurze Läufe ideal.
Speziell für sie wurde das Kaliber 8,5x55 Blaser entwickelt.
Selbst bei Lauflängen von weniger als 50 cm erreicht es ballistische Werte, die bei anderen leistungsstarken Patronen nur in Verbindung mit längeren Läufen erzielt werden können.
Diese Eigenschaften machen aus der 8,5x55 Blaser ein Kaliber mit ungewöhnlich weitem Einsatzfeld.
Es reicht von heimischen Revieren bis hin zur Jagd auf Elch oder Großantilopen.
Verladen ist hier das Norma Soft Point, auch bekannt als Norma Bleispitze. Ein Bleigeschoss mit einer sanften Spitze aus Blei für eine zuverlässige Expansion nach dem Anschlag und guter Präzision in jedem Schuss.
