The Faxon Duty Series Gunner Profile 18" .308 Win AR10 barrel is built for shooters who want a balanced .308 setup with smooth recoil and duty-grade reliability. The rifle-length gas system on an 18-inch barrel delivers a soft impulse and broad tuning flexibility, while the Gunner contour keeps weight and handling in check for practical rifles that still need reach.Duty Series barrels start with 4150 CMV steel and standard button rifling, then receive QPQ salt bath nitride inside and out for strong corrosion resistance and long service life. The Gunner (Big Gunner) profile uses a sturdier taper behind the gas block for rigidity and a slimmer forward section to reduce front-end weight—an excellent combination for general-purpose builds and suppressor-ready setups. Proudly American-made by a family-owned manufacturer in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio, each barrel is built for consistent performance and backed by the Faxon standard of quality. Key Benefits: Gunner (Big Gunner) balance: Medium taper behind the gas block for stability with reduced forward weight for handling.4150 CMV steel: Duty-grade strength and heat tolerance for real-world use.QPQ nitride inside & out: Corrosion and wear resistance for long service life.Rifle-length gas: Smooth recoil impulse and consistent cycling on 18" builds.11° target crown (non-recessed): Clean, repeatable shot exit for consistency.5/8x24 muzzle threads: Standard interface for .30-cal muzzle devices and suppressors (verify alignment/mount specs).MPI inspected: Quality control focused on dependable performance.Ideal Use CasesGeneral-purpose AR10 builds: A versatile 18" .308 configuration with rifle-gas smoothness.Field & hunting rifles: Balanced profile for carry comfort and practical accuracy.Training & high-use setups: QPQ protection helps resist corrosion and wear.Suppressor-ready builds: 5/8x24 threads support common .30-cal devices (verify suppressor rating and alignment).
