Die Ruger Mark IV unterscheidet sich in einem wesentlichen Punkt von der Mark III in der einfachen Zerlegbarkeit. Der Lauf kann mit einem Knopfdruck abgekippt werden. So ist die Pistole vom Patronenlager bis zur Mündung deutlich einfacher zu Reinigen. Der Verschluss kann dann einfach aus dem Lauf genommen werden.
Simple, one-button takedown for quick and easy field-stripping and proper chamber-to-muzzle cleaning. Pressing a button in the back of the frame allows the barrel-receiver assembly to tilt up and off the grip frame without the use of tools.
