The Faxon Duty Series Gunner Profile 16" .308 Win AR10 barrel is built for shooters who want a fast-handling, do-it-all .308 carbine without giving up real-world durability. This mid-length gas setup balances dwell time and recoil impulse for a smoother, more controllable AR10 while keeping the overall package compact. Duty Series barrels are machined from 4150 CMV steel and feature traditional button rifling for proven accuracy and long service life. A salt bath nitride (QPQ) treatment inside and out helps resist corrosion and wear in harsh conditions and high-round-count training. The Gunner profile is engineered for balance—keeping strength where it matters while reducing unnecessary forward weight for quicker transitions. Like every Faxon barrel, it’s proudly American-made by a family-owned manufacturer in Greater Cincinnati, Ohio. Key Benefits: Duty Series construction: 4150 CMV steel built for dependable performance in real-world conditions.QPQ nitride inside & out: Corrosion resistance and wear protection for long-term service life.Gunner profile balance: Strength where you need it with reduced forward weight for faster handling.Mid-length gas system: Helps deliver smoother cycling and a more controlled recoil impulse in a 16" .308 build.Standard muzzle threads: 5/8x24 supports common .30-cal muzzle devices and suppressor mounts (verify alignment/mount specs)..750" gas block journal: Compatible with most common low-profile gas blocks.Ideal Use CasesLightweight AR10 carbines: A 16" .308 barrel tuned for practical handling and balance.Training & high-round-count use: QPQ nitride helps resist wear and corrosion over time.General-purpose .308 builds: Great for range, field, and practical shooting roles.Suppressed-ready setups: 5/8x24 muzzle threads for popular .30-cal mounts (always verify suppressor caliber rating and alignment). Q: Why choose mid-length gas on a 16" .308 AR10 barrel?
