The S 303 is a semi-automatic rifle manufactured by the renowned company J. P. Sauer & Sohn GmbH. This company has had an excellent reputation for producing high-quality firearms since 1751. The Sauer S 303 is particularly recommended for use in driven hunts.
A remarkable feature of the S 303 is the manual safety at the stock neck, which allows all handling to be performed in a relaxed state. This system is referred to by Sauer as the Silent Docking System (SCS).
To ensure safety, the S 303 is equipped with an integrated firing pin safety that engages when the system is not fully locked.
Sauer has also made efforts to ensure high precision with the S 303, even when quickly firing a second shot. For this purpose, the so-called Smart Tube system was developed, which combines gas extraction, bolt weight guidance, and fore-end attachment. This is intended to ensure that the reloading process does not affect barrel vibration and that the front part of the barrel can vibrate freely.
A driven hunt weapon can often be exposed to precarious weather conditions. Sauer relies on the so-called "Nitrobond-X steel surface" for the S 303, which is supposed to provide protection against weather and minor collisions.
