The new R8 with 10-round magazine
The new Blaser R8 Ultimate X finally comes with a significantly expanded magazine capacity for driven hunts: The new magazine unit holds exactly ten cartridges. This is how many cartridges fit in the magazine of the new R8 Ultimate X. With this greatly expanded magazine capacity, it fulfills the long-standing wish of many hunters and shooters to carry an R8 with a larger reserve.

To achieve this, the trigger system, including the trigger blade and guard, has been separated from the magazine and integrated into a newly developed system extension. This allows magazines with a capacity of 10 rounds to be used in the magazine well of the R8, providing ample space even for powerful magnum cartridges.
The R8 Ultimate X in detail:
The standard configuration always includes an adjustable comb (VSR), an adjustable butt plate (VSK), or the new Compact butt plate (SKC), as well as a match chamber grip ball.
The following calibers will be available as 10-round magazines:
- Magazine No. 19 - .308 Win / .243 Win / 6.5 Creedmoor / 6 XC
- Magazine No. 25 - .338 Lapua Magnum / .300 Norma Magnum

A flush-fitting universal magazine housing is also available, allowing the use of standard magazine inserts for the R8.
In principle, the Blaser saddle mount can still be used. Due to the slightly increased overall length of the R8 Ultimate X, it may be necessary to adjust the eye relief according to individual preferences for the optics. Here, Blaser recommends, if necessary, the Blaser fixed mount with Picatinny rail.
