The APS M40 A3 is an innovative new product in the airsoft sniper rifle market and was developed together with the manufacturer Hakkotsu. In addition to a lightweight yet stable polymer composite stock, the shooting-relevant parts are made of metal. The special feature of the APS M40 is primarily its innovative magazine design. Similar to the Tokyo Marui M40 series, the magazine is equipped with a ball feed at the front. This feature places the magazine in the correct position and makes the appearance of the rifle much more realistic. Additionally, the airsoft rifle has an adjustable trigger, an adjustable cheek rest, an easily accessible hop-up unit, and a pre-installed 6.03 mm precision barrel made of stainless steel with centering bushings. Of course, the very good shooting performance of up to 2.1 Joules should not be overlooked. The APS M40A3 is a replica of the M40A3 sniper rifle, which was in use by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) from 1996 to 2009.
This version of the APS M40A3 comes in complete Multicam Black camouflage. It features the original Multicam Black camouflage pattern from Crye Precision, which was applied using a water transfer printing process. This guarantees that the colors used harmonize with other original Multicam products and that no color differences occur.
The stock of the APS M40A3 airsoft replica is made of a polymer composite construction. It has a rough texture in the front area, ensuring a secure grip. There is a mount for a bipod at the front lower area. The rear grip is also textured and therefore very grippy. The shoulder stock at the back is equipped with a hard rubber shoulder pad. The Hakkotsu logo is embedded in the pad, which also serves as an anti-slip structure. The cheek rest can be adjusted in height by up to 30 mm in four steps. To adjust it, simply press the APS logo in the area of the cheek rest. This rest is also textured to ensure that the rifle sits securely in position. To facilitate the transport of the rifle, the shoulder stock can be detached from the rifle. Thanks to a well-thought-out system, this is done easily by pressing a button.
The one-piece aluminum outer barrel is coated in matte black and is precisely manufactured. The main housing with the tensioning rod in the middle is also made entirely of durable aluminum. A 139 mm long 21 mm rail is already mounted on the main housing from the factory. Various scopes can be attached here (sold separately). Inside the outer barrel is the factory-installed stainless steel precision inner barrel with a length of approximately 510 mm and a 6.03 mm inner diameter. To keep this straight, APS has already installed barrel centering bushings from the factory. Also installed in the outer barrel is the adjustable hop-up system. The system can be adjusted from the outside, providing a more precise projectile trajectory and greater range. For sufficient magazine capacity in combat, the removable 45-round low-cap magazine made of steel sheet is provided.
As already mentioned in the brief introduction, the shooting-relevant parts of this rifle are almost exclusively made of metal. In addition to the material used, the workmanship also ensures reliable functioning of the rifle. The features of the trigger unit are very interesting. In addition to the trigger weight (approximately 227 - 454 g), the trigger travel (0 - 4 mm) can also be adjusted. The very good shooting performance of up to 2.1 Joules, which makes this rifle a true sniper rifle, is also noteworthy.
For operation, 6mm BB round balls with a weight of at least 0.30g are required (see accessories).
